What are
Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are essentially hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occurring collagen found in the body. Our stores of this compound deplete as we age and therefore skin becomes less supple and can wrinkle easily. As it is a naturally occurring compound within the body it is safe to use and allergic reactions are very rare
How does
it work?
Dermal fillers come in a variety of thicknesses so they can be targeted to specific areas of the face and be tailored to the individual. For example, deep nasolabial lines (nose to mouth) may need a thick particle filler as this will need to be injected deeper into the layers of the dermis (skin), but for fine lines around the mouth or eyes, a very fine particle filler would be best as this is injected more superficially.
